Soulmining, of legendary movie haiku review fame, was at the Premiere on friday. He wrote us this sweet haiku review of Brighton Wok!
I’ve quoted the whole thing here, as it is a haiku and they’re only short, but please do check out the Feed The Pony blog for plenty more movie haiku fun.
It was so great to see so many people turn out for the Premiere at the Duke of York’s on friday.
There were people sitting in the aisles because they couldn’t get seats. John and the staff at the Duke of York’s really helped to make the whole event a success. Thanks to Jose Rosengurtt, Alex and Oscar for capturing the night on film. There are too many people to thank. Everyone played their part to make a beautiful evening.
Thank you so much everyone, I hope you enjoyed the movie. Now we just have to let everyone know about Brighton Wok!
The biggest ever Brighton Wok event is in two days, this Friday 11th July at the Duke of York’s cinema in Brighton.
Nearly everyone involved in the Film is going to be there and seeing the film for the first time.
Lots of Brighton and National press will be there as well.
The Duke of York’s is a medium size cinema, so apologies in advance if people don’t get a seat. We’ll do our best to squeeze everyone in though, so do come down and try your luck.

Brighton Wok is finished and available on DVD.
The manufacturer has just sent us our first edition run of the DVD.
I’ve put up a new site with more of Glenn Fabry’s artwork. You can get your DVD at:
Check out the new trailer as well, with the new colour grade, sound and edit.
It’s the last days before shipping here at the Brighton Wok HQ. We’re making the final touches to this website, the trailer and the premiere plans.
We’ve sent off the DVD Master to be printed, and as soon as we get the first run back, they’ll go up on this site for sale. The box is looking great - Glenn Fabry’s cover then a collabaration between all of us for the back cover. Gabriel used Glenn’s art to make a cool menu system and the film plays smoothly.
We’ve also been busy inviting people to the Premiere. Looks like a lot of people will be there. If you think you’re coming, but haven’t spoken to us then you should get in contact immediately to avoid disappointment.
I’ve just put up the final Brighton Wok logo, an amazing piece of work by Josh. It’s great to get this finally done, it’s been a long journey to getting a logo we’re all happy with.
We’ve been busy filling up the guestlist for the premiere, send us an email to crew@convictfilms.com if you want a place.
Of course, there will be more screenings. We’ll start on them as soon as the premiere’s done. If you’ve got any suggestions for cinemas or venues which would like to screen the film then please let me know. We want everyone to see our film.
We’ve finished Brighton Wok.
On Friday 11th July at 11:30pm, the premiere will be at Brighton’s Duke of York’s Cinema in Preston Circus.
Please contact me at crew@convictfilms.com for tickets.
Get in touch as soon as possible, places are limited.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry. There’ll be other screenings coming up soon.
Join the mailing list if you want to be told when there’s a chance to see the film. The DVD will be on sale on this website about the same time.
It’s over. Now we want everyone to get a chance to see it.
Axis Post finished the colour grading on Brighton Wok last week, courtesy of Steve Shaw, Victor Riva, Tim Reynolds and Wozy Warren. We’re very happy with the results - the film finally has a pro grade.
We’ve been looking through the tape, checking everything and putting the final touches to the poster and DVD cover. I’ll be overhauling this website in the next couple of weeks as well. Then we just have to get ready for the première.
